Review of Make up of Sub Group
FS gave an overview of the first steering group meeting and key actions that came out of the meeting. The minutes of the steering group meeting are attached for your information. The DSEN business plan is also attached.
It was agreed that further representation from the business sector is required and Mark agreed to contact various organisations. ACTION MH & FS to contact Fuel Suppliers, Federation of small businesses, Business Link, MAC1 & MAC2, SWEME, Engineering Institution, NFU, Energy Institute, ENVEC, South and North Devon Enterprise agencies, FSB, Carbon Trust who will soon be having a worker based at the RDA in Exeter, South West Tourism, Destination Management Organisation, Construction sector, DEBI.
Chairs Report (Selection of chair)
This sub group presently does not have a chair. The opportunity for volunteers was given however unfortunlately nobody there could offer the time. Jeremy Filmer Bennet, who sits on the steering group was suggested as a chair. ACTION FS to contact.
Sub Group Action Plan
The updated action plan is attached, updates are in bold. The action plan was looked through and it was mentioned that it be link it to the work the Carbon Trust is doing. Similarly the need to link to EMG and Business Link was also mentioned. ACTION: Mark to contact EMG and business link to discuss dissemination of DSEN information. FS to invite Carbon Trust to the next meeting.
A general discussion ensued about the action plan and the following key actions were agreed as a priority for the group.
Agree key messages for Business
Link with Carbon Trust/EST/Business Link/Regen SW
Need a coordinated information service to act as a one stop shop for business
Expand membership of the group.
ACTION FS & MH to liaise over these points.
